Nov. 30th reception to celebrate opening of Washington DC office and commemorate 4th anniversary of Lori's arrest

On Tuesday evening, November 30th, a Wine and Cheese Reception will be held at 6 p.m. at the Stewart Mott House, 122 Maryland Avenue, NE Washington DC, to celebrate the opening of the Washington DC office of the Committee to Free Lori Berenson (CFLB). The Committee office is located in the Methodist Building one block away. The Reception will commemorate the fourth anniversary of Lori's wrongful imprisonment in Peruvian jails.

Confirmed speakers are Rhoda and Mark Berenson, Joy Olson (Latin America Working Group), Grahame Russell (Rights Action/Guatemala Partners), Carlos Salinas (Amnesty International), Gail Taylor (CFLB), and Coletta Youngers (Washington Office on Latin America).

Other invited speakers include Larry Birns (Council on Hemispheric Affairs), Ramsey Clark (former U.S. Attorney General), Jennifer Harbury (Global Exchange), and Maurice Paprin (Fund for New Priorities).

The reception is co-hosted by the CFLB, American Friends Services Committee, Guatemala Human Rights Commission, Office of the Americas, Peace and Security Project/Institute for Policy Studies, Rights Action/Guatemala Partners, and SOA Watch.
