In this update:Dear Friends and Supporters of Lori Berenson:
As her parents we have become increasingly concerned with State Department comments regarding "no special efforts on her behalf." Prior to her sentencing, and totally consistent with her life-long commitment to equality and justice for all people, Lori told us that the U.S.government should be focusing mainly on the lack of justice in the Peruvian military tribunals. She was very much aware that her plight could bring world attention to this lack of justice. On her behalf, we will continue to insist that all people are deserving of a fair, legitimate trial. We will urge all those interested in the cause of justice -- for Lori and anyone else -- to demand the same.
