Amnesty International issues "Urgent Action" for Lori

This morning Amnesty International headquarters in London issued an Urgent Action appeal that Lori's 11 weeks of solitary confinement constitutes cruel and inhuman treatment and must be ended. Amnesty International has asked that the appeal be directed to:

It is time for Perú to end this outrageous isolation and inhumane treatment and it is time for Perú to adhere to principles of international law and give Lori an immediate fair and open trial in a civilian court or her immediate release. She is imprisoned only for her beliefs.


Save the date -- Monday, January 11, 1999

A rally will be held in front of the White House (across from Lafayette Park) on Monday, January 11th, the third anniversary of Lori's wrongful life sentence, between 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. If you live in the Washington DC region, please join us. If you know others in that area, please tell them to come.
