In this update:

Lori's case to be heard in Human Rights Court May 7 and May 8

Finally, the Inter-American Court of Human Rights in San Jose, Costa Rica will be hearing Lori's case on May 7 and 8. The case petition was filed by the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights on Lori's behalf against the government of Peru in July 2002 because Peru failed to comply with the Commission's rulings a few months earlier.

Lori, a witness for the Commission, will be providing testimony on her own behalf by giving an official affidavit via videotape to visiting Commission officials from her prison cell in Cajamarca, Peru today.

We will be going to Costa Rica for the hearings on May 6th and Rhoda will be presenting official testimony on Lori's behalf in the Courtroom. Lori will be represented by Ramsey Clark -- former Attorney General of the United States, Thomas H. Nooter - criminal and international lawyer based in New York City, and Jose Luis Sandival Quesada - the Peruvian lawyer who represented Lori in her civilian trial.
